I'm Daniel Moglen, and I've spent over a decade at UC Davis helping people navigate some of life's most significant transitions. As an education and training specialist at the Clinical and Translational Science Center at UC Davis Health, I've guided hundreds of PhD students and postdocs through the complex journey of defining and achieving their career goals.
My own path began here in 2010 as a linguistics PhD student, where I discovered my true calling wasn't just in research, but in supporting others through their transformational moments. From teaching international students in CPE programs to working as a career advisor at the UC Davis Career Center, I've always been drawn to helping people unlock their potential during pivotal life stages.
The experience that changed everything? Teaching English in South Korea—a year that opened my eyes to the power of cross-cultural connection and reinforced my belief in making everyone feel welcome and included, no matter where they are in their journey.
My commitment to lifelong learning led me to complete both the UC Davis Coaching for Life and Work Certificate Program and the UC Davis Executive Leadership Program. These experiences transformed not just how I coach, but how I approach every conversation—with greater empathy, intentionality, and the ability to create safe spaces for authentic reflection and growth.
At UC Davis Health, I've built and launched coaching programs that have become cornerstones of professional development. Working one-on-one with scholars and facilitating workshops, I've seen firsthand how the right support during transition periods can unlock extraordinary potential.
After years of supporting people through career transitions, I recognized a gap: highly accomplished professionals—especially those from academic settings—often receive excellent financial planning for retirement but little guidance for the identity and purpose transitions that matter just as much.
University retirees bring incredible gifts to this next life stage: intellectual curiosity, research skills, and decades of expertise. They don't need to be "fixed"—they need to be activated. They need someone who understands both the academic mindset and the art of navigating meaningful change.
I believe leadership is service, and coaching is an act of service. My approach combines proven design thinking methodology with the kind of deep listening and thoughtful questioning I've refined through years of professional coaching training.
But here's what makes Soul Activation different: we don't just sit and talk. We walk. There's something about moving your body that moves your thinking, and Davis's beautiful campus paths and arboretum create the perfect backdrop for breakthrough conversations.
As a lifelong learner myself, I know that growth doesn't stop at retirement—it transforms. When you activate your soul's next chapter, you create ripple effects that touch your family, your community, and all the lives you're yet to impact.
I'm here to help you move from wondering "What's next?" to actively discovering what wants to emerge in this extraordinary season of life.
Ready to activate your next chapter? Let's take a walk and explore what's possible.
